there and back again...
Where shall i start... hmm... friday night was the UFJ Corporation`s welcome party for exchange students... got down at the shiyakusho station and it is really near the nagoya castle! Was almost dark though it was only around 6pm at that moment! In a nutshell, the tiramisu was really really good... a few glasses of beer, sushi... i still prefer nasi briyanni and rendang... hey mom! any kenduri at Jalan F-7? Heheh!
Okay, that was friday... saturday... hmmm... went to this flea market at the OsuKannon area. on the 18th and the 28th of every month, there is this antique market on lah! Well, somehow the Nagoyans like the #8 very much... nagoya has the city symbol of `maru hachi` which is `circle eight`... went there with yu-ting... shopping arcades, pachinkos, lots and lots of shops, 2nd hand goods shops, and there is this particular shop, very interesting... they sell clothes by weight! We dont have that in Malaysia right? I heard it is really popular in Taiwan...Okay, there are clothes selling at 3yen per gram, 2yen per gram, 1yen per gram, and guess what, 0.5yen per gram!!! if you are lucky enough, you can actually get `decent` clothes there! Guess what, i bought a blouse and a skirt, yup a SKIRT, for less than 500yen! Lots and lots of shoe shops... well, i guess they really love adidas a lot! It is slightly cheaper compared to malaysia... their converse shoes, not cheap lah, yeun! Will have to think thrice before `taking the plunge`... hahahah!
Had ramen for lunch and boy it was really salty... cost me 290yen and that is the cheapest item on the menu... a sundae will cost around 190yen... dont even think of going to an authentic japanese restaurant!! C`est impossible!!! Dekimasen... zenzen dekimasen... This osu area, it is way bigger than our Petaling Street... way better than Petaling Street... much more things to see and do than Petaling Street! We spent like more than 4 hours there!
Sunday, church! Yay! Pastor Carol shared about `dont just stand on the rock, get into the rock`! Justice and mercy, righteousness and compassion... Bible study after service... Sister Mimi from the Philippines is leaving Japan soon... had a special prayer for her... Oh ya, sister Mimi is the first person who came and talk to me the first sunday i went to church... she was with Nagoya University, i think she lecture there... encouraged me, assured me that everything will be okay for me in japan... kinda sad coz she`s leaving so soon... only 2 sundays with her! Well, sister irene and vivien, both from the Philippines, are really nice... wow, we exchange hugs and even kisses in church... really passionate bunch of people in church and i like that very much... it is so different from the kind of `dead fish` kinda handshake you get in church, SOMETIMES lah... heheheh! Sincerity.... is all that matters... true?
Hmm... went to Sakae again after church... left my money belt at the residence, somehow need to withdraw money to get my yurika, the subway pass... so Citibank again! Thank god there are no handling charges... so, went to matsuzakaya... the basement, FOOD! you have godiva chocolates... very very nice looking cakes and desserts and everything sweet... cheese and stuff, pasta and all kinds of bento set and pastries, bakeries... arghh... the main issue here is they are all so so so very expensive...
Drop by at `book off`... got myself a few mangas... 105yen per comic book... guess what, somehow i got myself addicted to it and went back the next day to get a few more! Now, i have more than 10 mangas on my shelf waiting for me... heheh! Guilty...
Have to go now, got test later at 945am... gotta go check my pigeon hole and the notice board...
